Hi. I'm a dad. My daughters figure skate. I didn't know anything about figure skating when they started skating. Well, ok, I'd followed the Tonya Harding incident of course and was outraged by the Salle and Pelletier judging scandal in the Salt Lake City Olympics but other than that, I didn't really know a salcow from an axel.

After spending entirely too much time and money at the local figure skating club, I have amassed huge amounts of mostly accurate information about figure skating. So, if your kid is begging you to sign up for figure skating lessons, or you've already started down the road to bankruptcy, I mean, figure skating stardom, and you still have some questions that haven't been answered, hopefully this site will help.

Figure skating is a whole sub-culture onto itself and I am doing my best to unravel its mysteries.

This site is broken up into a few categories that you see across the top. Click on each of them to see the associated topics displayed on the left.

Stay warm. Have fun.
