When do we have to arrive at the rink before the competition?

Your coach should tell you when to be there but expect to be there at least one hour before your kid's skate time. Figure skating competition schedules can change and they often run ahead of schedule, so it's really important to be there well ahead of time.

Your coach isn't just saying this because they're up-tight. Sometimes the schedules have some padding in case something causes a delay. Sometimes an event will get canceled. Your kid also needs some warm-up and stretching time. And, if you're at an arena you've never been to before, it gives your skater a chance to get more comfortable and familiar with the space.

Many competitions post a notice board at the check-in desk about how when the events are on time, ahead or behind schedule and by how much so keep an eye open for that.
